Aeropress is a manual coffee machine consisting of a brewing cylinder, a plunger and a coffee filter, which is fixed to the underside of the brewing cylinder with a filter holder. The coffee grounds are mixed with the brewing water in the brewing cylinder and the brewing water is pressed with the plunger through a disposable filter into a cup or jug.
The Aeropress was invented in 2005 by the American Alan Adler.
